WHITE WATER RAFTING IN WALES

All the river systems in the world are either fed by melting snow, glaciers or rain. In Wales, rivers are predominantly rain fed systems, make rafting conditions unpredictable.

The International scale of river difficulty is rated from: Grade 1- 'Easy' to Grade 6- 'Unraftable', for full details of the grading system please click here. Most of the White Water Rafting runs in Wales are usually Grade 1-3 runs but can change depending upon water levels.

We use the best, natural  White Water Rafting runs in Wales which include:

River Teifi
The River Teifi is the longest river in Wales as it stays in Wales from source to sea. It has an amazing array of wild life and the trip is about 3 hours long with an average river difficulty of 1- 3. You may also have the chance of a good rapid swim during the trip too! - (available from October until March only, requires recent rain fall for suitable rafting conditions).

River Wye
Start at  Builth Wells and run to Boughrood. Approx 15miles, with a river difficulty average of 1-3. This is a long run approx 4hrs encountering several white water sections including "hells hole", also long stretches of flat water.- (available from October until March only, requires recent rain fall for suitable rafting conditions).

"Just a quick note to thank you for the great day rafting last Saturday, the weather was glorious and everyone was absolutely exhausted, especially after the exhilarating swim” -Natalie King

Our Comments:
If you are looking for a fun group activity with a good chance of getting wet and having a good laugh then rafting is definitely for you. However if you are looking for a high adrenaline, "white water" experience then we would personally recommend Surf Kayaking, Canyoning or Coasteering as more suitable options. In comparison to International White Water Rafting destinations such as the river Zambezi, the Alps etc., all of the rivers in the UK are relatively tame.

Notes
-You must be able to swim a minimum of 20 metres and have a reasonable level of fitness.
-Bring a swimming costume, towel, and warm clothing.
-If rafting has to be cancelled, we can provide Canyoning or Kayaking (depending upon availability of kayaks) as an alternative.

Price
£49 / person - (Min of 4 participants)
